London-based, commercial still-life photographer Piotr Gregorczyk does not visualize a meal in the same way that it’s served in most restaurants. Instead, his series Flying Food, portrays a meal that defies gravity. The photographer’s goal was to create a vision of lightness and buoyancy that would be paired with an article on healthy eating.
The photos seem as though they catch the split-second of free-fall that occurs when a pan is tossed. However, only 60-percent of the results were captured real-time, with the remaining 40-percent being digitally manipulated in post-production.
