Rebecca Mook is a Brooklyn-based illustrator and comic artist whose past clients include the New York Times, The New Yorker, and Nordstrom. Her quietly beautiful GIF illustrations are partially inspired by cinemagraphs (GIFs that resemble still photographs except for a moving element). “I like to think of my GIFs like they’re clips from movies or a window into a scene, that kind of thing,” Mook stated.
Her digital GIFs rest on the less showy side of the spectrum, with a tranquil, picturesque quality to them. She works with Photoshop and Adobe After Effects to create her art. You can check out more of her portfolio here.
