San Diego based artist Sam Larson has created a charming series of meticulous miniature illustrations that are all smaller than a penny. Larson chronicles his illustrations via social media. After he draws each picture, he then photographs the sketch beside a penny and posts it on Instragram to prove the size.
Most of the drawings come from nature though a few pull from Wild West culture and feature icons like cowboys and buffalo. Larson started the series in 2013 after a five-year creative drought. He then posted a photo of his work every night, using the online encouragement he received to inspire him to build this extensive series of work.
