Internet advertising firm Barbarian Group in New York City recently hired architect Clive Wilkinson to design their new office. Wilkinson planned the entire 23,000-square-foot suite around one thing – a 1,100-foot-long unbroken table that seats all of the 125 employees at the firm.
The serpentine white desk slops and curves around the office. Wilkinson even used the underside of the table to create recesses and cubbies for smaller meeting space. The continuous table brings the entire workforce together in a fluid and open atmosphere, but they might want to post a “No Skateboarding” sign at the front door.
