The comic, which was excavated by the ever-fascinating website Comics with Problems, shows Ronald McDonald rounding up juvenile delinquents while out on crime patrol. He delivers them, one by one, to scouting organizations that fit their age and gender. The kids are happier, healthier, and more socially connected as a result.

Yes, Ronald McDonald is a superhero in this comic book.

Like any well-funded superhero, he has a vehicle–a flying hamburger on a plate.

The whole comic book is a captivating look at a bygone culture–an America of 50 years ago. It would be easy to cynically laugh at the kitschy artwork and contrived plot. It would be easy to mock it MST3K-style, as cynicism comes naturally. But it would be better to respect a sincere effort by a corporate/non-profit collaboration to improve society.
