The spectacular ‘foodscapes’ you see below are not screenshots from the next installment of ‘Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs.’ In fact, they are the works of UK-based photographer and visual artist Carl Warner who has developed the impressive body of work by carving landscapes out of food produce like vegetables, fruit, candy and cheese.
To create these intricately detailed scenes, Warner follows a rigorous creative process in his London studio where the scenes are photographed in layers from foreground to background. Because food wilts quickly under the lights, each element is put together in post production to achieve the final image. Each picture can take up to three days to build and photograph, and a couple more days for retouching and fine tuning. The leftover food that’s not super glued or pinned ends up being shared with the team. A lot of time and effort goes into these epic foodscapes for sure!
