In the US it’s presidential election season. There are lots of people expounding upon about all kinds of high stakes topics: what’s best for you, the country, what’s gonna keep everyone safe, and successful. Candidates, pundits, your pals: making points, making promises, making arguments. In the course of the political proceedings … I’ve seen plenty of the fallacies we’ve covered before on Idea Channel, but there are a few cropping up that we haven’t yet covered–so I thought we’d better. Today we’ll discuss the “Appeal to Emotion Fallacy,” the “Non-Sequitur Fallacy” the “Appeal to Nature Fallacy” and how you might be seeing them pop up in this election season. Let us know what you think in the comments below!
