3D printing creates twisting visualizations of noises

Using 3D printing, REIFY has created physical objects based on sound waves. The sculptures are visualized versions of sounds — from spoken words, songs, albums, or natural noises.

“Using a range of 3D printing materials, including plastic, bronze, and even coconut husk, REIFY is exploring the variegated potential of sound waves. Waves can be shaped and molded with REIFY’s custom software that transforms waves into physical, sculptural objects.”

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

Then, by using REIFY’s augmented realized smartphone app, the sculptures themselves are “readable” and the app translates the shape back into sound.
