53rd SUPER BOWL 2019 Tribute Matchstick Chain Reaction Build and Burn

53rd Super Bowl 2019 takes place at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Atlanta, Georgia on February 3, 2019. Two best teams of the NFL are fighting for this title – New England Patriots and Los Angeles Rams. Halftime show always gathers some pretty popular artists and this year it’s Maroon 5, Travis Scott and Big Boi.

This is Lab Ninja’s tribute to this event.

It took them 7 days or 80 hours to build, film and edit this matchstick chain reaction, mainly due to old, cheap and obsolete equipment.

They used more than 20.000 matchsticks and more than one pound of hot glue. Camera took more than 3500 shots for the stop motion part of the video and all RAW photos together were larger than 60GB. Drawing logo and stacking matches took 12 hours per day for three days and editing took also 3 days.

Three cameras were used, all different, so it was a bit hard to match colors, frame rates etc.
