60 artists welcomed to exhibition in Poland by paint-splattered stairs

How do you welcome 60 artists to an exhibition hall full of their fabulous work? Ask artist Leon Tarasewicz.

In 2006, Warsaw’s National Gallery of Art, Zachęta, held an exhibition featuring about 60 artists. The exhibition, called “Polish Painting of the 21st Century,” welcomed the creatives with a staircase stained by paint Leon Tarasewicz‘s choice of red, yellow, and blue. This created a dramatic entrance while doing away with the age-old red-carpet we’ve all grown accustomed to.
