In a twist on the traditional artist talk, American artist Louise Lawler has periodically presented a seven-minute slideshow related to her sound installation “Birdcalls” (1972/1981). In conjunction with the exhibition Louise Lawler: WHY PICTURES NOW, Lawler will present her slide show, after which contemporary artists Allan McCollum, Matt Mullican, R. H. Quaytman, Yvonne Rainer, Cameron Rowland and Lynne Tillman will each present their own seven-minute “response.”
