Those postcards you see in gift shops while on vacation may seem cliché but they do their job. They capture the essential vistas of the city you’re visiting. Photographer Michael Raziano has proved this by taking a number of postcards from San Francisco and photographing them positioned over the hotspot they feature. His new images blend the card and real-life seamlessly.
Raziano’s work shows that notwithstanding the postcards’ retro look and uneven font, they still endure as one of the best ways to communicate what’s great about a place like San Francisco.
