Plastics are clogging up land and water. This is especially true in Chile, which is one of the greatest producers of plastic waste in Latin America.
According to nonprofit Fundación Chile, 990,000 tons of plastic are consumed each year—and the country’s ecosystems are now visibly impaired by the pollution.

Environment protection organization Greenpeace illustrates plastic’s overwhelming effect with The Nature of Plastic, a series of photos depicting real sites of nature in Chile. Except, instead of lowlands and clear water, the “satellite” images are constructed using pieces of plastics.

All the prints were put up in transportation channels around the city with an accompanying QR code, which commuters can scan to find out how they can stop the spread of plastics in nature.
