Learn basic drawing skills using materials you already have at home: paper, pencils, colored pencils, markers—whatever you like to use. Look at drawings, paintings, and prints from LACMA’s collection for ideas on how to draw your own portraits, still lifes, landscapes, animal pictures, and more! All skill levels are welcome in this fun and lively class. With artist Rosanne Kleinerman.
Five Thursdays: March 3, 10, 17, 24, and 31
Supplies needed for this class:
- Paper to draw: sketch, Bristol, vellum, or watercolor paper
- Something to draw with: pencils, color pencils, markers, charcoal, pastels, gel pens—whatever you like to use
- For the first class: a mirror or a favorite photograph or selfie, and your ideas!
About the Instructor
Rosanne Kleinerman is an artist and art educator. She has exhibited her work in Los Angeles, New York, and many places in between. Lately, she has taken her work to the streets, with large-scale public commissions on walls, bus shelters, and utility boxes.
