A magical landscape made of thousands of glowing orbs. Beautiful!

British artist, Bruce Munro’s iconic ‘Field of Light’ installation had a three-month stay in Edinburgh’s St. Andrew Square, Scotland. The modular unit of this installation is a blown-glass sphere supported by a thin stem that encases a fiber optic strand. As its title suggests, the installation presents a field of glowing dandelion-like flowers.

‘Field of Light’ has been exhibited in both the UK and U.S. The piece is site specific and changes according to its location; the Edinburgh showing was the installation’s first urban setting. ‘Field of Light’ was inspired by the harnessed energy behind a desert landscape. Like after a desert rain, Munro’s ‘Field of Light’ comes alive at night transforming the space into an enchanting fairytale world.
