Bihari writing Korans produced in India between the fourteenth century and the sixteenth
century are still hardly known and never studied as a whole. It is difficult to attribute and date them due to a lack of information. This production however has the distinctive feature of displaying a rare homogeneity for this period in India. The harmony of this group of manuscripts written probably in different places over a period covering nearly three centuries, points out fundamental issues in the context of production, patronage, craftsmen and recipients.
