Now, all you hardcore sumi-e painters and fans may shudder at what I’ve done but I certainly had a good time painting bamboo. If you’re interested in learning to paint with watercolors I highly recommend picking up a book on sumi ink painting or doing a good ‘ol google search about it. The simplicity of the paintings and focus on brush strokes is a good way to get to know a liquid medium.
