ADG Laus Awards 2019: graphic design and editorial design by Rubio & del Amo for the book that gathers all of the awarded projects and the careers of the awardees.
The ADG Laus Awards are Spain’s best-known design awards and in 2019 studio Rubio & del Amo was asked to create a book that showcases all of the awarded projects and the careers of the awardees.
With some inspiration from the expressive graphic language of other graphic design-related publications and previous editions of the book, the design team wanted to explore new ways, so they came up with the concept of a book cover that offers the visual experience of a skin. It’s a poetic approach to the editorial concept that led them deep into the development of the design while being subtle at the same time. Please read more below.

The concept represents a wide range of aspects attached to the awards such as effort trough sweat, emotions trough goosebumps, singularity through the skin marks or different career paths through wrinkles. The concept appears not only on the cover but also throughout the entire book by using different skin tones. Just see more below.
