Walking one dog can be a challenge. But walking 10 or more? That’s just a day in the life of Saratoga Dog Walkers! Since 2011, they have had a mid-day “pack walk” in which owner Tim Pink and his team take pups big and small on large group strolls. When they’re finished with their walk, Pink snaps group photos of all the good boys and girls. The pictures are adorable, and the pups look impossibly cool. If it weren’t for the leashes, you’d think these dogs were in a musical crew about to drop their next album.
While the walks yield some super cute photos, they are also beneficial for the dogs. They take place during the weekday while their humans are at work. Not only are the pups receiving exercise, but they are given some structure and socialization with other dogs. “The program works with the dogs’ natural instincts to travel in a pack,” Pink explains, “but sadly, this primal ritual of dogs is something that most of our dogs never have the opportunity to do.” In 30 to 45 minutes, the walks will challenge dogs both physically and mentally while leaving them calm and happy when they return home. It’s a win-win for both the pup and their human.
