Two-faced cats are a rare sight, and their striking features continue to captivate the world over. Venus is one of the most famous felines to have a purrfectly two-tone face, but a young cat named Narnia is quickly winning the hearts of the internet. Based in France, the British Shorthair is nearly a year old and has already grown into a handsome boy with blue eyes and a half black, half gray face.
From the beginning, it was clear that Narnia was going to be an unusual cat. Stéphanie Jimenez, his human, has photographed him from the time he was small enough to fit in her hand; you could see his two face even back then. Now that he’s grown, this distinction has become even clearer. His fur has grown fluffier and smoothed out into a straight line that equally divides his features. With these enchanting good looks, it’s no surprise that Jimenez picked such a fitting moniker.

It’s unclear of what caused Narnia’s coloration, but one possible explanation is that he’s a chimera cat. When this occurs, two embryos fuse together and contain two types of DNA. But because it results in one organism, the individual is technically its own fraternal twin.
