“You should see how they become alive, especially when a little wind flutters them,” says jewelry maker, Derya Aksoy in the description of one of her pieces of sculptural jewelry. Using a process of transferring the patterns of butterfly wings onto organza fabric, her butterfly-inspired jewlery series is ethereal and graceful.
Based in the Turkish city of Istanbul, Aksoy works under the business name Jewelera. Having had such success selling her pieces on Etsy, she recently got noticed by the store Anthropologie who has begun to carry her work.
In this video, you can see how one of her butterfly necklaces delicately flutters in the wind.
