Adult Art Class: Friday Art Night—Work With What You Got!

Friday Art Night classes are a great way to end the week! Grab your supplies, relax, and create!

By now, you have gone through most of your belongings and have saved those really special things that you still don’t know what to do with. Gather your treasures: photos, greeting cards, bookmarks, fabric, magazines, toys, souvenirs, stickers, wrapping paper, yarn, old art supplies, whatever is in your bag. If the art supplies you want to use are unavailable, then make art with what you got—cut, paste, paint, build, and repeat! You’ll learn basic elements of composition, color, and construction to create your new work and view mixed media artworks from LACMA’s collection for inspiration. All skill levels are welcome in this fun and lively class. With artist Rosanne Kleinerman

Join on your computer or tablet wherever you have internet. A Zoom link and art materials list will be sent to you prior to class. Students are responsible for providing their own art materials based on recommendations provided by the teaching artist.

Supplies needed for this class:

• Collage materials: greeting cards, wrapping paper, scrapbooking supplies, bookmarks, stickers, photos
• Cardboard or heavy paper (like Bristol or watercolor paper) to work on
• Drawing tools: pencils, colored pencils, markers, charcoal, pastels, gel pens
• Objects like old toys, boxes, or souvenirs
• Tape
• Glue
• String and/or ribbon
• Your stuff and your ideas!

About the Instructor

Rosanne Kleinerman is an artist and art educator. She has exhibited her work in Los Angeles, New York, and many places in between. Lately, she has taken her work to the streets, with large-scale public commissions on walls, bus shelters, and utility boxes.
