Graviky Labs (an MIT spin-off) has found a way to turn ugly and harmful pollution into beautiful art-producing ink. They have built a contraption that connects behind the exhaust of a tail pipe of a car, which captures soot and takes it through a purification process that converts it into ink. “The same technology can be scaled to fit onto boats, chimneys, and cranes” Graviky Labs co-founder Anirudh Sharma said. A single AIR-INK pen approximately contains 40-50 minutes of diesel car pollution. So far, AIR-INK is available as 2mm, 15mm, and 50mm markers, and a 150ml screen printing ink set. The cheapest marker is available for about $25 on Kickstarter.
