Alone Together – Photographic Project by Aristotle Roufanis

“A deep look at the loneliness of the global cities as it appears during the blue hour.”

Alone Together is an ongoing project by London-based photographer Aristotle Roufanis. Using a technique of super high-resolution photography, he shots large cities in a certain way that only individual apartment lights are visible. From the distance, they are hardly recognizable. On exhibitions, they are shown as extremely high-resolution prints to convey as many details as possible. This way, viewers are able to explore different areas of each image. Aristotle Roufanis says: “The bigger the city, the lonelier we feel.” In today’s metropolitan areas, people are quite efficient in covering all their needs, but they often forget the need for companionship. With this photo series, Aristotle Roufanis wants to show that even when we feel lonely, we are not alone. Enjoy the following images!
