The Tham Khoun Xe is one of the world’s largest river caves, and is renowned for its extraordinarily remote location. Ryan Deboodt brings us a dynamic look at the cave system.
The Beijing-based photographer traversed nearly 4.5 miles (7km) of the Khoun Xe and was allowed to photograph his expedition. So he brought with him a plethora of equipment and began filming in areas regularly closed off to tourists. The ceiling is a staggering 200 feet (60m) and width of 250 feet (76m) and boggles the mind as it questions how something so large can exist underground.
