Sam Elder wanted to figure out the coolest thing he could make with your average eight foot 2×4. He came up with this complex and super cool marble coaster powered by an old toy drill. To make the coaster, Elder sliced the single post of wood into tiny precise elements with impressive dexterity.
In this video you can see the complexity of the build. The most impressive aspect is Elder’s hand-carved Archimedes-style screw that lifts the marbles to the top of the run. If you want to make one for yourself Elder has uploaded the plans to Instructables. Good luck!
