These illustrations are both playful and anxiety inducing. Illustrator Dain Fagerholm draws pictures reminiscent to children’s book illustrations of characters that all look a bit nervous. The style of the figures is playful and fun but their positions and repetitious shaking is more like something out of a nightmare. Many of the characters are alone or crouched down giving a feeling that they are desperately waiting for something that may never come.
Fagerholm manages to make these images just 3D enough to pop off the screen and shakes them just enough to induce a dizzying double-take causing you to make sure your computer screen isn’t wiggling. Check out the quick GIFS below and head to his site for more fun animated illustrations.
