Arabic words modified to visually represent their meaning

Arabic is one of the most eloquent and versatile languages in the world. That is what inspired Mahmoud Tammam to start this creative typography series.

The Egypt-based graphic designer modifies Arabic words to visually represent their literal meaning. Often using words that describe animals and objects, Tammam’s iconographic representations allow non-Arabic viewers to understand the meaning of each word.
