Artist Lin Tianmiao describes staging exhibitions at her home in Beijing that “spearheaded an emphasis on the personal experience.” She also reflects on how the work of Beijing’s artists reflected a new political openness in the 1990s and 2000s.
Lin Tianmiao is one of 71 artists participating in “Art and China after 1989: Theater of the World,” on view at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York from October 6, 2017, to January 7, 2018.
