LACMA’s eclectic and cutting-edge Art & Music series, winner of the ASCAP & Chamber Music America Award for Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music, presents world-renowned performers and composers celebrating the museum’s exhibitions and permanent collection.
Join us for a special Art & Music performance by pioneering composer, performer, and media artist Pamela Z and avant-garde contemporary music collective Wild Up, who will stage a three-part program in LACMA’s newly reinstalled Modern Art Galleries. The presentation will consist of a series of roving performances, including original compositions by Pamela Z and graphic scores responding to the artwork on view, resulting in an immersive interplay between visual art and sound. Performers will include Pamela Z, conductor and Artistic Director of Wild Up Christopher Rountree, and an ensemble of musicians on the violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, bassoon, percussion, and electronics.
Presented in conjunction with LACMA’s Modern Art collection.
Tickets required. This event will be standing only. Attendees are required to show proof of vaccination. Visitors are required to wear face masks in all indoor spaces including galleries, restrooms, and the LACMA Store, regardless of vaccination status. A well-fitting medical-grade mask, surgical mask, or higher-level respirator such as an N95 or KN95 mask is strongly recommended instead of, or in addition to, cloth masks.
