She was at her mid-20s when fabric designer Janaïna Milheiro started owning her craft and becoming an influence and inspiration to many aspirants in her field. This Paris-based artisan and textile designer not only creates handmade silks and feather-weavings but also makes original lace and embroidery designs. Born in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1985, this French national studied embroidery and textile in Paris and graduated in 2007 and 2010 for the said courses, respectively.
Milheiro’s style is influenced by different techniques: embroidery, lace making, sewing, weaving, knitting, printing, and braiding. The materials she uses, feathers and fabrics, which both “fascinate and irritate” her, yield amazing pieces for use in the world of fashion and design.
