Artist doodles on high fashion editorial spreads

We’ve all doodled on a piece of paper, a surface of a school armrest, or a magazine at one point in our lives. And everybody deemed it a form of vandalism. One guy, though, was artistic and creative enough his doodles went on to be recognized as unique art.

Berlin-based Austrian-Moroccan illustrator and filmmaker who only goes by the name of Dr. Propolus started out his work through a satirical photo series of nudes with captions which he called #tittietuesday on Instagram. Due to the social media platform’s nudity clause, his account was eventually deleted. When he came back, he still continued to post naked photos of men and women. This time, however, he flourished the photos with humorous drawings. He called the project #conservativetuesday and thus, his art was born.

To make things more interesting, he started doodling on models and celebrities featured in high fashion editorial spreads, adding little details that ultimately changed the whole intended theme. When asked why he uses other people’s photos, he replied, “I like to browse through photos and then start drawing. In a sense, the process is very collage-like, which is something spontaneous, not deliberately planned. I like to keep it that way.”
