If you’re a movie buff, you’ll likely recognize the subjects of Jared Yamahata’s work. The California-based illustrator takes scenes and characters from movies and makes them his own, saturating (and occasionally inverting or completely changing) the colors and playing with textures to give viewers an intense, new look at familiar images.
Yamahata’s work features well-known images from movies like Wayne’s World, Star Wars, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and others, the characters distorted and multi-colored, adding a trippy, unexpected dimension to the images. Check out a few below and see the rest on his website.
