Currently on display until December 16, 2017, Sean Kelly gallery in New York City presents ‘Wide Wake’, a new solo show by Sam Moyer. The Brooklyn based artist is well known for a diverse range of work, which draws inspiration from architectural design and a variety of natural materials. Her artworks masterfully bridge the gap between painting and sculptural art. For her first exhibition with Sean Kelly gallery and her first solo show in New York since 2014, Sam Moyer has realized a vibrant series of large-scale paintings as well as an architectural sculpture, and a range of drawings with oil on paper.
Her paintings provide unique compositions, while combining diverse materials such as marble, slate, stone, and fabrics in different colors. Measuring eighteen feet in length, a monumental painting forms a striking centerpiece of the exhibition. Some images of the current exhibition can be found below.
