Become transported to a world of adventure and romance. Seascapes define a personal odyssey where sailboats symbolize the ruptures and constants of the world that I set out to shape for my audience.
Each portrait has its own story. My portraits tell my subjects’ story with natural light and emphasis on features such as this boy named Mills’ amazing eyes.
Living in Teignmouth, Devon right next to the coast, I am a painter mesmerized by our oceans and inspired by the energy of the seas. I love to bring positive energy indoors though my artwork.
My painting is inspired by nature’s wonderful ability to offer fantastic works of art in the form of patterns and formations that we can see everywhere, such as on a tree trunk or a rock face.

I have enjoyed creating art all my life, and portraits have always been my favorite. Although my art is of a realistic style, my goal in every piece is to capture the “spirit” of the subject I am painting.
When I see light flowing over objects, creating luminous layers of colors and deep, rich shadows, my heart sings. That voice in my head says to me, “You must paint this!”
Layering and texture serves as the foundation for my painting. I lay down up to six layers of acrylic paint, then I drag, smear and scrape the paint. I also use found objects to create more texture.
I strive to create island-inspired art that fills the viewer with a sense of happiness, wonder and calm. The deeper meaning behind my art is preserving the delicate beauty of our oceans and sea life for future generations.
My version of Medusa represents the overwhelming number of disabled women who are sexually assaulted but who are rarely believed. I imagined that Medusa’s snakes would become her friends and companions.
As a plein air painter, when the light is just right it can make a scene memorable. This is what I try to capture in my paintings because the light can change in an instant.
I am an engineer turned artist. I build 3D installations on canvas and paint bold abstracts, combining beauty and technology, using recycled items and finding balance in chaos. My pieces are storytelling about life experiences.
Photography is about discovering the moment. I shot this on Easter Island, famous for its unique statues. This weathered fishing boat, abandoned along the island’s rugged shore, is one of my favorite images.
My art tends to be very geometric, but I also have a lot of fluid organic style art. I love color and working with mixed media. This work was made originally with watercolor markers and then “refined” using Photoshop.
I overlay color with tension by using tones and hues that may not necessarily be realistic to the subject. Created as a powerful abstract, this painting is meant to sing to the soul in an exciting but refined tone.
I heard it was your birthday, so I bought some balloons and walked to your house on the mountain. The cake was good. When I got home, I thought about getting old.
My work highlights the vibrancy of my sketch line with bold background colors. This example makes use of colors from a photograph I made of a spring bush in blossom caught by an ice storm.
I create rich, luminous, dramatic compositions that simultaneously draw you in and jump out to meet you. Currently, I use hand-ground paint and 23k gold on cast, three-dimensional backgrounds, that relate to the subject matter.
Large brushstrokes, vigorous gestures and drawing directly on the canvas from paint jars are some of the techniques I use to make compelling statements on small canvases.
As a mixed media painter, I’m inspired by nature and incorporate glam as my human element with foil and glitter. Above all else, I want to motivate people to become stewards of the environment.
I use abstract pastel landscapes to portray beauty that can transcend the difficult and the painful in this world.
Vibrant, harmonious colors and lively paint surfaces are my inspirations as I interpret the landscape in my semi-abstract works, painted with palette knives, brushes, and texturing tools using oil, cold wax, sand, and mixed media.
I am a California artist working in the mediums of oils and egg tempera. I have been painting for over forty years and I am inspired mostly by the serenity of nature and the telling of stories.
The Galaxia Mystica series blossomed out of my love for space and the desire to create new worlds beyond those we typically experience. Intergalactic Airport of Galaxia Mystica embodies my fantasy of intergalactic exploration.
I am fascinated with all of nature, but especially the human countenance. I have lived in Africa, Europe and the United States. I love painting the beauty and dignity of various cultures.
