So Long Banksy! The legendary street artist has concluded his eventful one-month residency in New York City. Throughout October the notorious artist faced major criticism as well as raving reviews for his public art stunts. He practiced his classic politically charged murals and also a few performance based works that were particularly clever.
In our favorite piece titled ‘Art Sale’ an older gentleman sat near Central Park selling what appeared to be Banksy rip-off paintings. Surprisingly, the man was selling Banksy originals, valued in the thousands, for just $60 each. The total day’s sales reached a whopping $420. You can watch the fascinating video of “Art Sale’ below.
