Basel Week Miami ’18 / Previews: Juxtapoz Clubhouse

Art Basel Week Miami is just around the corner, and once again Juxtapoz Magazine is coming to Miami with another edition of their Juxtapoz Clubhouse concept, this time taking over a whole section in downtown Miami. Running sort of an art fair of their own, or an art district if you wish, this year’s event was again organized in collaboration with Mana Contemporary, and will include seven curated storefronts, multiple art installations, as well as a full Mexico City group show and pop-up installation show.

Celebrating the impressive quarter of a century since their founding, the SF-based Art & Culture Magazine is going all-in with this year’s edition of their signature event. Presenting works by many local galleries from the Bay Area, as well as bringing in works from as far as Japan, Juxtapoz Clubhouse at 32- 60 SE 1st Street, 48 East Flagler and 200 E Flagler in downtown Miami, is shaping up to be a must-see destination from December 5th – 9th.

Included will be a special all-felt shop by UK-based Lucy Sparrow, a psychedelic video installation by Japanese artist, Keiichi Tanaami hosted by NANZUKA, an immersive group show by Axel Void and VOID Projects, as well as gallery presentations by Subliminal ProjectsSuperchief GalleryPt.2 GalleryFirst Amendment, an Scott Campbell’s SAVED Gallery, as well as a Juxtapoz pop-up shop by JakPrints. Artist installations will include presentations from Marina Zumi, Nychos, Laurence Vallières, 1UP Crew and Martha Cooper, Dosshaus, Megan Massacre, James Joyce, Egle Zvirlblyte, Oliver Hawk Holden, Dennis McNett and more. Plus, at the site of last year’s Juxtapoz Clubhouse, 200 East Flagler Street, there will be a special all Mexico City group show, featuring works by Paola Delfin, Maria Conejo, Christian Castañeda, Yanin Rubai, Minerva Ayón, Poni, Fusca, Monica Loya, Helena Volkva, Varenka Ruiz, Curiotli and Tellaeche.
