Beautiful ‘Rose Succulents’ Look Like Tiny Blossoming Flowers from a Fairy Tale

Recently, succulents have gone from humble houseplants to trendy home accessories. In addition to their easy-to-care-for nature and alluring, jade-like tones, plant lovers adore the water storage plants for their diverse selection of shapes. In the past, we’ve seen succulents that look like burrowing bunnies and leaping dolphins. Now, we’ve discovered some that magically mimic the delicate look of recently-bloomed roses!

Formally known as Greenovia dodrentalis, the species of “rose succulents” features rounded petals layered in symmetrical patterns evocative of a blossoming flower. They typically grow in clusters, and, at maturity, they only reach a height of 6 inches. Don’t let their small stature fool you, though. The rose-shaped succulent is a hearty and happy little plant, blooming frequently and enjoying a sunny climate comparable to that of the Canary Islands, their native home.

Though it may look more like a flower than a fleshy plant, Greenovia dodrentalis is simply a standard succulent. Its petals are a gorgeous shade of green and feature the subtle spines characteristic of the desert plant. Additionally, unlike roses, they require little water and can thrive indoors, making them a perfect plant for flower-lovers short on garden space!
