The team behind Leaf Republic has developed an eco-friendly water-resistant packaging made with leaves. Leaves have been used for generations in different cultures to wrap food, for example, tamales in Mexico or Zongzi in China. They are renewable materials obtained without sacrificing any trees. This German company repurposed this concept and modernized it – resulting in plates, plastic bowls and lids that are biodegradable in only 28 days.
