Bizarre Object Allowing You to Sleep Face-Forward on Airplanes Gets Kickstarted

A similarly unusual product, the TruRest, was designed to allow users to sleep face-forward on airplanes. Designer Chloe Hill first started sketching the concept over a decade ago, after taking a long-haul flight.

Hill, who has a degree in Communication Design, says she then worked with industrial designers and engineers to prototype the thing:

It’s designed to be clipped to a tray table for support, which I’m a little iffy on:

Nevertheless, the $145 object has been successfully Kickstarted. At press time there was still 11 days left to pledge.

I’m always surprised when something like this makes it over the finish line. If any of you reading this have better ideas for projects—and I know some of you do—do consider crowdfunding it.
