Black American Portraiture Interdisciplinary Writing Workshop
scemcem
Mon, 09/20/2021 – 09:51
Inspired by works in Black American Portraits, participants will listen to music and read poetry from the Harlem Renaissance, Civil Rights, Black Power, and Black Lives Matter movements to explore looking, sitting, and posing as an act of resistance both then and now. Participants in this workshop will examine works of art alongside writing exercises that prompt self-reflection and engagement. No writing experience required, just a willing pen and curious mind. Facilitated by poet celeste doaks and scholar Dr. Tiffany E. Barber.
Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.
This event will take place online via Zoom
