Bologna Design Week 2018 And The New Cà Marsala District

From September 25 to 29, a new edition of Bologna Design Week will take place in the capital city of the Emilia-Romagna Region in Northern Italy.
Shows, design exhibitions, workshops, competitions, events, guided tours, design talks and theme discussions on design cultures, fashion & design, and design food will be held in the evenings in the city centre for five days devoted to design culture and cultural and creative industries.

The 2018 Bologna Design Week (BDW) will once again partner up with Cersaie to celebrate the week of Ceramics for Architecture and Bathroom Furnishings in Bologna and promote the city’s rich and innovative design culture, in a series of compelling exhibits and entertaining events throughout the city center.
On Wednesday, September 26, the night will be lit up by “Design Night“, organized in collaboration with Confcommercio Ascom Bologna. Affiliated Ascom shops and local establishments will stay open until midnight, offering city users and visitors interesting itineraries and access to historic buildings that animate the city and change the way visitors view the old town, providing the ultimate experience for all Cersaie visitors.

Cà Marsala District
Absolute new is the proposal of Marsala District: a spatial and creative immersion, in which places become thematic islands that cross and unite the ancient Via di Mezzo, today Via Marsala, with the reality of the university world,
of research and culture with that of the shop and of the shop window.
Cà Marsala District will open the gates of old buildings, showing the secrets of photographic archives, libraries, priceless works of art. Squares and streets become space for creativity and social innovation.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

What to expect? The Bolognese baroque will meet the modern design of Vitra and Artek, through an installation dedicated to the great classics of North American and Finnish design.
_Ca’ Marsala will host the collective exhibition Naturalia et Artificialia taken care of by Dimora Artica from Milan, together with the installations of Miobio organic greenhouse, Atelier Macrame, lights interpreted by Spazio Esperienze Davide Groppi, chairs by Stile Bottega and GL Neon.
In the show room Feel Desain will be present with a couple of copies of FEEL magazine.

Now in its fourth year, Bologna Design Week was first conceived by YOUTOOL, a cutting-edge communication agency based in Bologna who has been facilitating successful collaborations between designers and companies in the field since 2011.
