Matte painting has become an integral part of game and film production studios worldwide. To be able to imagine and create colorful vistas is a skill that only some have mastered. One of these skilled artists is Tuomas Korpi.
As an illustrator and production designer in Finland, Korpi specializes in the creation of futuristic and epic fantasy landscapes. His work as of late has featured eye-popping floating structures reminiscent of hit first-person game Bioshock Infinite’s air district of Columbia. Most of Korpi’s landscapes and cyclopean vistas depict nature or at least some form of nature combined with more contemporary elements like man-made bridges, domed structures etc.
