Cambodian Rattan: The Sculpture of Sopheap Pich

Contemporary Cambodian artist Sopheap Pich creates organic open-weave sculptures made of rattan and bamboo. This slideshow details how he creates his sculptures, which are inspired by human anatomy, plant life, and the history and culture of Cambodia.

The exhibition Cambodian Rattan: The Sculptures of Sopheap Pick is on view at The Metropolitan Museum of Art from February 23–June 16, 2013.
