Painter Adam Lister combines the nostalgic digital look of 8-bit images with the hand-touched aesthetic of watercolors to create these dynamic compositions. Lisner uses just enough visual information in his minimal style to allow these iconic characters and scenes to be deciphered.
Lister explains, “Having grown up playing Atari and Nintendo video games, this broken-down, angular method of processing and displaying information became an interesting guideline for me to translate and selectively restructure some of the most famous paintings in the world.”
