Brazil-based illustrator, Frederico Birchal, knows how important a costume is to character development. In the series below, Birchal isolates the outfits of selected television and film characters.
Even with images solely of their wardrobe, the represented characters are instantly recognized. Whether it’s the yellow of “Kill Bill” or the jacket from the “Terminator,” the clothing is a trigger that references an entire movie plot. In some cases, such as “The Matrix” and “Back to the Future,” the designs show the wardrobe evolution across a trilogy of films.
