Car mechanics as Renaissance paintings

In creating a homage to the Renaissance masters, photographer Freddy Fabris turned to an unlikely subject — auto mechanics. Portraying these blue color workers in a garage and working on cars, Fabris reinterpreted works by Rembrant, Michalangelo, and de Champaigne.

Fabris is a US based photographer that has worked for the last 16 years in the advertising industry. This series of conceptual works brought him to a car garage in the Midwest. His says that his goal for the Renaissance paintings reinterpretation was “to take them out of their original context, yet maintain their essence”.
