Press Release:

Caspar is the inaugural exhibition of Sgomento Zurigo featuring works by Susan Howe, David Horvitz and Vera Lutz and a short story by Travis Jeppesen. The newly born initiative devoted to research on visual arts and organisation of exhibitions was conceived by the artists Matteo Pomati and Marco Pio Mucci (co-curators of the project), and by the curator, writer and educator Francesco Tenaglia (Artistic Director). 

Susan Howe (b. Boston, MA, 1937) is the author of several poetry collections, including Concordance (New Directions, 2020), Debths (New Directions, 2017), which received the 2018 Griffin International Poetry Prize, That This (New Directions, 2010), among others. She has received two American Book Awards from the Before Columbus Foundation and was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences in 1999. In 1996 she was awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship and in the winter of 1998 she was a distinguished fellow at the Stanford Institute of the Humanities. In 2011, Howe received Yale University’s Bollingen Prize in American Poetry. She was a long-time professor of English at the State University of New York at Buffalo and held the Samuel P. Capen Chair of Poetry and the Humanities. She served as a Chancellor of the Academy of American Poets from 2001 to 2006. She lives in Guilford, Connecticut.

David Horvitz (1974) lives and works in Los Angeles, California. Vera Lutz Vera Lutz (b. 1992 in Munich, Germany) lives and works in Berlin, Germany.
