Channeling the power of the sun for beautiful wood burned art

An award-winning Filipino artist is using the power of the sun’s rays to create beautiful, detailed drawings on wooden boards. Jordan Mang-osan uses a magnifying glass to burn his artwork into sheets of wood.

His art draws on his native culture and the Mountain Province region of the Philippines. He’s been practicing pyrography since he was 19, and holds true to his Igorot roots by working with raw indigenous materials.

Listen beautiful relax classics on our Youtube channel.

Mang-osan has won numerous awards for his work, and is the current president of the Chanum Foundation, formed to create an artist village in Baguio City, which has developed a large art audience. His work is available for purchase through Fine Art America.
