Claire Barrow’s sustainable art installation inspired by Melissa Shoes

Galeria Melissa in London collaborates with London-based visual artist and designer Claire Barrows for its recent art exhibit. Entitled “Dancing With Dreams,” Barrows has pieced together clay and recycled materials to form a sustainable yet engaging art installation.

In line with Melissa Shoes’ vision of creating recyclable and cruelty-free products in Brazil, Barrows created five clay sculptures that honor the sustainable brand, as well as keeping the audience’s imaginations wild and formative. The art installation will also be mixed with digital art projections and performances including LGBT activist Michael Peacock, composers Kenichi Iwasa and Taigen Kawabe, and actress Sameena Jabeen Ahmed, among many others. The sustainable art exhibit together with the accompaniments aims to engage people in formulating their own interpretations.

According to Barrows, “We live our lives half online and half in the real world so that was something I wanted to portray.”

Barrows is just one of the many artists showcased in the renowned gallery. Past collaborators include Vivienne Westwood, Jeremy Scott, and the late Zaha Hadid. You can catch Dancing With Dreams at Galeria Melissa for free until May 15, 2017.
